Dr. Carl graduated from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1983. Upon graduation he practiced in Burke, Virginia for a year before moving to Fairfax, where he has continued his practice. Dr. Carl also taught at Georgetown University School of Dentistry from 1983 until it's closure in 1990.

  He is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia State Dental Association,  Northern Virginia Dental Association, and the International Association for Orthodontics . Dr. Carl and his staff have attended numerous classes through the Northern Virginia Dental Society and other accredited institutions. Dr. Carl and his wife Deborah reside in Fairfax County with their daughter Stephanie, and their son Brian.
